The Madison Area USBC conducts a number of tournaments for bowlers of all abilities.

Open Championships

The Open Championship Tournament runs for four weekends in January. It is the same basic format as the Wisconsin State Tournament and USBC Open Championships, with Team, Doubles, and Singles events, and optional All Events. The tournament has a scratch division, and two handicapped (100%) divisions – one for averages 200 and higher, the other for averages 199 and under.

Senior Open Championships

This tournament, is held the first two weekends of November. It has Team, Doubles, and Singles events, optional All Events, and scratch options. All divisions for the Senior Open are 100% handicapped. Singles and All Events divisions are age based – ranging from 50-54 to 70+.

Women’s Championships

This tournament, is held the first two weekends of February following Super Bowl weekend. It has Team, Doubles, and Singles events, optional All Events, and scratch options. All divisions for the Women’s Championships are 100% handicapped.

Masters

The annual MBA Masters follows the Open Championships and is held on the day before the Super Bowl. It is an open singles scratch event conducted on a lane condition that is more difficult than your typical house condition.

Senior Masters

The Senior Masters is held annually on the Saturday following the Senior Open Championships. This is an open singles, scratch event conducted on a lane condition that is more difficult than your typical house condition.

Queens

The annual Queens is a women’s only tournament and also follows the Open Championships. It is held on the day before the Super Bowl in conjunction with the Masters. It is a singles scratch event conducted on a lane condition that is more difficult than your typical house condition.
