The Madison USBC Bowling Association, in conjunction with the Madison Area Youth Bowling Association, offers the Fred G. Engelke Memorial Scholarship award.
Mr. Engelke was an avid bowler in the Madison area for more than 36 years. He won numerous MBA and state titles and served as an instructor and coach for youth bowlers. He is also a member of the Madison Bowling Association Hall of Fame. This scholarship recognizes his commitment to the sport of bowling and his desire to support youth bowlers.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a graduating high school senior who participates in certified bowling and is planning to attend an accredited college or university in the fall in pursuit of either a two or four year degree. The scholarship will be a one time, non-renewable award of $1,000. Applications for the scholarship are mailed to qualifying seniors of the Madison Area Youth Association.
To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must fulfill all of the following requirements:
- Complete and sign the application.
- Include a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or principal.
- Include a copy of the applicant’s letter of acceptance from a college or university indicating the date the applicant will begin classes in the fall semester.
Applications for the scholarship are mailed to qualifying seniors of the Madison Area Youth Association.
