A big weekend of events is on tap on Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes in Madison.
The 3rd annual Coaches Summit will be held both days, brought to you by the Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin.
This two day event features five distinguished speakers and instructors, including USBC Gold Coach Hank Boomershine, USBC Silver Coaches Diandra Asbaty and Deone Moos, UW Milwaukee Bowling Coach Chad Sorce, and USBC Hall of Fame member Carolyn Dorin-Ballard.
Tips on coaching, the mental game, practicing with a focus, and running effective practices are part of the agenda.
The summit is $99 per person, $109 after September 10. Sign up three or more people, and the fee is $90. The clinic runs from 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and includes lunch. The Sunday schedule is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
“Get an Edge Saturday” is taking place on Saturday the 20th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a ball motion clinic by Boomershine and Moos. The clinic is designed for collegiate bowlers, high school bowlers, or any bowler looking to improve. There is 60 minutes of classroom time, followed by 90 minutes on the lanes.
The fee for this clinic is $49 per person prior to September 10, and $59 after that date. This clinic is limited to 24 bowlers.
Then on Sunday the 21st, there will be two sessions of the Storm/Roto Grip MatchMaker Live. This program gives you the opportunity to test your equipment. With balls pre-drilled to specific spans, bowlers of all size and skill levels can experience for themselves.
The first programs is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the second from 1:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. The fee is $25 per person when registered prior to September 11, $35 thereafter.
