Pierson Claims Second Straight Title

Chris Pierson won his second straight MAST title Saturday at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes in Madison. Pierson qualified third with a four-game total of 867, and finished his title run with a 225-197 win over Todd Kjell in the final match. Pierson earned $480 for the victory, and Kjell took home $265 for second.  Pierson’s victory also earned him an additional $100 from the Bet to Win pot.

The remaining payouts were $170 for 3rd-4th, $128 for 5th-8th, and $99 for 9th-16th.

Pierson and teammate David Beres won the MAST doubles event at Lake Ripley Lanes in Cambridge last Saturday.

Forty-three bowlers competed on the 2015 USBC Open Championships Team Event pattern, with only ten managing to average 200 or better during the four-game qualifying block.  The cut to 16th to advance into match play was 761.  Kjell led qualifying with 912, and will receive an additional 25 bonus points in the M&J Points Race.

Phoenix Pro Shop donated a Storm Joy Ride bowling ball, which was won by Kyle Anderson.  Host center Bowl-A-Vard Lanes added gift cards won by Kevin Punzel, Becky James, Eric Pierson, and Kevin Thompson. MAST also added $250 from tour sponsor M&J Truck and Auto Repair.  Thanks to our generous sponsors for their donations.
